FUNDoggy : Fundraising application

Using gamification and social network services to create a charity fundraising application to help shelter dogs

The proliferation of new media is rapidly changing the world of philanthropy and more effective methods of raising funds and developing donor relationships must be sought. Furthermore, today’s trends indicate that the amount of giving by individuals has increased gradually, but the generation gap in donors is getting bigger.

Fundamentally, this thesis project will seek effective ways to attract young donors and show how to maintain a continuous connection with them by using today’s trending business and marketing buzzwords, “gamification” and “social network services.” Employing a game’s entertainment, problem-solving challenges, interactive experience, and customer loyalty improvement is expected to create significant synergy when the game is merged with fundraising and social network services. The study will also engage in an in-depth exploration for an in-depth exploration of existing fundraising methods, in which user interviews will be employed to identify the underlying problems. Finally, this study presents an understanding of game mechanics and psychology and outlines its strategic plan for a new fundraising app, designed for a nonprofit animal shelter to encourage pet adoption and donation.

Through the analysis, this thesis project suggests solutions and ideas for a better UX design for a fundraising app that can engage people and draw their attention. Finally, based on this study, recommendations are made for further research that reinforces the role of a fundraising app in making a better world.

THEME

The theme of the this project is creating a promotional motion graphics piece. Create a 30 sec animation promoting a Fashion TV. Create a custom logo for the brand. 

Think about compositional systems, color schemes, textures, etc. Create design elements and add imagery to enhance my animation.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this project is to gain experience with animating type and image in a dynamic manner. 

A square becomes a sort of cast that restrict and cage something. By entering its square boundary, it gets disconnected and invisible from the outside world. 

Complex project began from an intention to look at relationships of lives and isolated ones from a different perspective, under a theme of objects that we need but are hidden, and things that are nearby but we miss. Furthermore, we should remember that we ourselves are trying to conceal own's inferiority complex with vanity and decorations by only focusing on what is shown outside. This aspect is appearing in cities we are currently living, and think back why we were so busy hiding these complexes.   

CONCEPT WORK

Based on four characteristics of square — limit, control, regulation, standard — which I found during organizing the keyword map before selecting my topic, I progressed my concept works. This concept works motivated me strongly to come up with "Complex Project".

PROCESS BOOK

My records between the period of a project where I searched for hidden squares' stories within the city. The square I found were doing what they were supposed to do silently an invisible place. 

TYPOGRAPHY

To convey information more simply and easily about my project, I developed the identity of my project and expanded my visual design works into typography at the same time. This 'Complex Typography' is a representative of inconspicuous squares around us and identities of my project.

FINAL WORK

My final works make people remind hidden things around us and aware of their existence. Although they might be 'inferior complex' in this city, these hidden things are working hard with their self–esteem.

The goal of the first project was to "meld/transition" new users from the landing page to the older style account holder side with a very different/dated look and feel.

There were several limitations, based on the capabilities of us to capture data on user previous visits.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The square works are a kind of projects that raises a question with regard to the root of ‘What is the design as a new possibility?’,‘How can we find out the contents of it?’ i.e. ‘How can we do produce the existence from the nil?’

The backgrounds are due to that we still don’t know what it does andhow it does to be educated. And so, it may be started from a doubt relating to the natural characters to the ambiguous design unsolved by not a little experiences. In order to find out the answers to the questions

We chose to deal with the subject of the square enclosed by us along with the foundation of the formation and its world. And so we established the processes in the view of the unity. To take a dilatation upon the subject I had worked out a project by emphasizing concepts, surveying the forbidden meaning of the research foundation, and on a basis of the explanation to the world, experimenting the formative objects and solving the problems of my experiencing everything directly in the center of the processing. The solution of the answers and questions is not clear, but we have found that they are an intellectual travelling regarding the survey-processes to the fundamental base.

Results of a textbook and the images left behind over here, are regarded as the fragments of the trial and errors accompanied with the intellectual travelling. I am now full of ideas, which excuse in my brain after a travelling. There are still something left behind in the square which is accepted to the endless excuses and a great deal of challenges.

Communicate a journey using time-based media. Use video and stop motion animation to describe the journey of the red fox through a sequence of images. Considered about color, hierarchy, composition, shape, light and scale.

Use storyboarding as a means to plan and prepare time-based messages.

Project Overview

Fujifilm North America builds a prototype mobile application which facilitates printing in the Fujifilm Instax Share Printer 2 (“SP-2”).  The difference between the prototype application and the current Instax Share Print app available in the market is that the new application will allow additional editing functionality, including:

- Add costumes to camera in live-view (front- and rear-facing)

- Add costumes to static photos

- Add select photographic filters to the photo (& costume)

- Share creations via social media

New features are being added to the prototype in an upcoming update, including a new content section for “brand logos”.

RESEARCH

To design a network of the questions, meaning and imagination by investigating and analyzing it. 

Research is a means which is seeking for a close approach to the principles of a thought itself; And it is a logical process of a great deal of the invisible relationship which is surveying for the square and the human-being. 

ARCHIVING BOOK

Days that is not to be recorded is as good as the one which is not to be existed. The history and its record are the fountainhead which is making the future to be tidy; And also, to make a consciousness to be strengthened and to conduct our behaviors.

INTRODUCTION 

This project is a hypothetical exploration to design a transit diagram for the city of Rochester. While there is currently no subway in Rochester, there was The Rochester Industrial and Rapid Transit Railway, more commonly known as the Rochester Subway, a light rail rapid transit line that ran from 1927 to 1956. Rochester is the smallest city in America to build and abandon a subway system. 

Infographics are visual representation of information and most probably the oldest learning and communication content designed by human being.

Design the user experience for an online application that lets students at RIT browse for a specific medical specialist in the Rochester area. Lay emphasis on the geo-tagged medical facilities and their possible discovery by a user who is new to the town. The users can access contact information and directions to the medical specialist through a specific mode of travel (bus, car, taxi, etc.)

Abstract

For many people, drinking alcoholic beverages is a common occurrence. But deciding what to drink is often confusing, especially for those not as familiar with alcohol-based beverages.

There are many references and apps related to drinking alcoholic beverages. But many of them focus on drink recipes, or are drinking games.

The goal of this project is to design an app focused on drinking recommendations for the user based on their situation. The app will be both practical and fun for ages 21 and up who want distinct individuality, interest, and sensibility when making drink choices.

Making a list of alcoholic beverages and categorizing them were the main process of the project. This process helps to find similarities between beverages and classify them depending on their characteristics.

Users can simply answer a few questions for a recommendation from the app. Also, users can see information about specific alcoholic beverages whenever possible through this app.

Problem

To redesign a system of existing RIT CIAS Field Trip Forms and to make these solutions digital fillable forms by saving the InDesign files as Acrobat Pro files.
